Production Update: Oct 17, 2023

I wanted to give a quick update on production for the updates “version 2.0” of our shuffler line. The final design and prototype was done a while ago and testing is now wrapped up. Some lucky purchasers have received the “v2.0” as their order, as I wanted some field testing of the updated design and improvements. The feedback has been great! Overall the gears are much smoother, and overall noise has been reduced significantly (I don’t have sound measure equipment to provide numbers, but they are noticeably quieter). Also with some design improvements fewer screws and metal hardware are needed, which reduces the less recyclable portions of the design as well. Testing of alternate materials is ongoing, but while they have shown some real promise in noise reduction, the materials are very toxic or exceedingly expensive, so no major updates on that front. Also, some new 3D Printers have joined the fleet, providing a major uplift in print quality!

Most importantly, photographs of the new v2.0 line is underway, with most of the product shots taken. Left to do is some new videos to show the smoother action and quieter movement. There have also been requests for a more top-down video to show the cards getting mixed, as well as some clearer shots of how well a shuffle pass actually does, so those are being worked on this week. Hopefully all the photos and videos will wrap up this week, and the new v2.0 will launch before the end of this month!

One final note: I still have some inventory of the older “v1.0 design” that will be available to order at a reduced price once the v2.0 launches, as long as the current supplies last. No more of the v1.0 design are being printed, so what is on hand is all that is available, and some models are already sold out.

Thanks everyone for your support on this journey!
